Getting to Maafushi

The quickest everyday option is a shared speedboat straight from Velana International Airport or Malé. The ride takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on whether the boat stops at other islands on the way.

Boats run several times a day and seats are limited, so book ahead - ideally at least 24 hours before you travel. See the full speedboat timetable for departure times, including the different Friday schedule.

There is no direct public ferry from the airport. You first take the short airport ferry to Malé, then the public ferry from Malé to Maafushi.

The Malé-Maafushi ferry takes about 90 minutes and costs only a couple of dollars, but it runs on a limited timetable and not on Fridays. Departure jetties in Malé sometimes change, so check locally before you go.

For late-night flights, big groups or total flexibility, you can charter a private speedboat. Expect it to cost much more than a shared boat - roughly USD 150-300 one way. Message our team and we'll arrange one for you.
