Tourist SIM at the airport
The two mobile networks are Dhiraagu and Ooredoo. Both have counters in the arrivals hall at Velana International Airport, selling tourist SIMs with data packages from about USD 10 up to USD 50, depending on the data and number of days.
Other options
- A standard local SIM with a data top-up can be cheaper than the airport tourist packs - available from network shops in Malé.
- An eSIM bought online before you fly works if your phone supports it.
- Most guesthouses and cafés on Maafushi have free Wi-Fi.
